Overwatch Chicago strives to be the very best social and competitive scene for League and Tournament experiences.
The founders, Maverick and Randum, grew up together playing video games their entire lives. Their gaming ranged across most every console and onto the PC. Both have an extensive history of competition in both video games and real life. As eSports became more popular, the competition in video gaming became more serious and a major passion in both of their lives. Notable games for them include: Starcraft, Counter-Strike, Warcraft, Unreal Tournament, Street Fighter and Smash Melee.
The origin of their first Overwatch experience occurred back at BlizzCon of 2014. As they worked their way to the main hall for the opening ceremonies, they noticed a giant section of blacked out computers- they stopped, jumped in line for this ‘mystery’ game. Little did they know they would become some of the first gamers to experience Overwatch.
Ever since this moment, they strive to play at a high level and to help facilitate competitive play in their home city of Chicago.
Overwatch Chicago runs both League and Tournament events. The League event is a month long Season, consisting of pre-made teams, promoting even teams on player roles and SR of the current season. This is designed to have a competitive, fun, social environment. All league events are held in person. Our tournament events consist of a single or multi-day event of teams being pre-arranged by the participants. Please refer to the specific tournament for rule details or sign up restrictions.
